Clara Miller — Writer, Analyst, Lifelong Learner
A Notebook and a Spreadsheet
Most mornings, I have two tabs open side by side: one is a blank document waiting for the right words, the other is a data set I'm pulling apart to find the story underneath. That combination — writing and analysis living in the same workspace — is pretty much how I operate.
My work sits at the intersection of education research and clear, honest communication. I spend a lot of time thinking about how learning actually happens, especially in models like blended learning where students at Kaʻu Learning Academy move between independent digital work and teacher-guided instruction. The data tells one story; talking to teachers and students in grades 3–7 tells another. I try to hold both.
What You Can Expect Here
I test approaches before writing about them. If I'm covering a study strategy or a classroom framework, I'll have tried it, tracked it, and found its rough edges first. Here's what that usually looks like in practice:
- Sitting with the research until the genuine takeaway surfaces, not just the headline
- Bringing real classroom context into analysis of trends in public charter education
- Writing for both first-year teachers and experienced educators without talking down to either
- Revisiting earlier conclusions when new evidence shifts the picture
If something here sparks a question or a pushback, I'd genuinely love to hear it. Head over to the contact page and let's think through it together.
